But for some reason, we keep looking until we find our cow calendar. But the cows have an pleasantly odd shape, and the pose is always a little unusual. They are hard to find. Every year since then, we've looked for a new one. There's something about these cow calendars. I have to have one. You won't laugh at these paintings of cows in different poses, reflecting the months they appear in. My best guess why is that the pictures in the calendar are simple and homey, funny but in a serious way.

This year I checked for the cow calendar on Amazon, only to find that they are out of stock. I can't figure out why I love these cow calendars. We bought one about eight years ago at a craft store in Utah. That gives the paintings just a touch of whimsy, and they warm the heart in a subtle way. Every year, without fail. But I do. If the calendars don't show them as in stock and shipping soon, I'll order one directly from Lang. Odd as it is, for me a calendar just won't do unless it has cows.
